IMMCO Diagnostics, Inc. offers new anti-CCP test for the diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis
Monday October 2nd, 2006
IMMCO is pleased to announce the availability of a new anti-CCP
test as part of our Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) panel. The detection
of anti-CCP has proven diagnostic and prognostic values. The
test exhibits superior sensitivity and specificity in the
diagnosis of RA. Anti-CCP can be detected in 40% of RA patients
that test negative for Rheumatoid Factor (RF). Clinical studies
that include non-RA patients and healthy individuals demonstrate
97% and 99% specificities, respectively. Elevated levels have
also been correlated to joint involvement and radiological
damage in early RA as well as a positive predictive value
for the development of RA in up to 93% of undifferentiated
arthritis cases.
The anti-CCP ELISA test may be ordered from IMMCO Diagnostics
as a stand alone test, or as part of the RA I or RA II profiles.
Please note that all RA I and RA II profiles will now include
anti-CCP ELISA testing. A summary of the revised RA test menu
can be found below.
